ESPN will show a special edition of Major League Soccer Sunday night.
With World Cup TV ratings reaching record highs, the network most likely will parlay that into higher MLS ratings.
ESPN2 will broadcast the Seattle Sounders FC vs. LA Galaxy match, July 4, at 10:30 p.m. ET / 7:30 p.m. PT.
Galaxy stars Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle are expected to return to MLS for the first time since playing for the U.S. Men's National Team in the World Cup.
Donovan is on the verge of becoming or already is a main-stream star in America. Following the World Cup he made appearances on the American talk-show circuit including a stop by the Late Show with David Letterman
Glenn Davis and Kyle Martino will call the Sounders FC-Galaxy match on ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD (simulcast on ESPN3.com) from The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The match will also be joined in progress on ESPN Deportes following the Sunday Night Baseball game.
