The Brazil coach Dunga and the rest of his technical staff have been dismissed by the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) after the 2-1 defeat by Holland in their World Cup quarter-final on Friday.
A statement issued today by the CBF says a replacement for the departing Dunga will be appointed before the end of the month.
Dunga returned home with the team earlier today and was met with applause and cheering by fans in his native Porto Alegre in southern Brazil.
The coach said on Friday that he would not be continuing in the job. "We knew when I started that I would be here for four years," he said. "It's sad, it's difficult. Nobody prepares to lose."
